Game Controller with Cord

Updated November 4, 2026

Type: Melee / Blunt
Rarity: Common Electronic Waste
Range: 5 feet
Durability: 30/30
Special Requirement: One free hand; two hands to use its special ability

A chunky black game controller attached to six feet of stubbornly tangled cord. The buttons stick. The left thumbstick drifts. The System has reinforced the cable and weighted the casing, finally making this thing responsible for the violence people kept blaming it for.

SPECIAL ABILITY — DISCONNECT OPPONENT
Once per encounter, make an attack to loop the cord around a small or human-sized enemy’s limb. On a successful hit, deal no damage and prevent the target from moving away from you until the start of your next turn. You must keep both hands occupied holding the cord. Releasing it ends the effect. The target can still attack.

SYSTEM NOTE:
Congratulations. You can finally blame the controller when you lose a fight. We checked. It’s still mostly you.  Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
