⚔ Session Notes Session #18

The Celestial Drake

Location Celestial Drake
Players Bambi, Elora, Kuso, Maevis, Ranga, Xander

✦ Session Summary

The party spent some time exploring the Celestial Drake and the entertainment it had on offer. They played some games, did some gambling, and eventually ended up at the Pineapple Club where they met some new friends. In the evening, the party went up to the Night Deck to see the stars, but ended up rescuing some children instead. They also met a pseudo dragon named Flint who decided to join their party as Ranga's companion. As the night continued, the Celestial Drake continued its journey, stopping briefly in Sithean before continuing across the Cerulean Sea to Neverland.

Session Narrative

Two days and a night aboard the Celestial Drake — luxury by any standard the party has recently experienced. The ship moves through clouds at a steady pace, its engines a low thrum beneath the decking, its staff relentlessly courteous in the face of whatever the party gets up to.

The games deck offers dice, cards, and a wheel of fortune that may be slightly rigged. The casino is equipped with a house limit and a house advantage and a charming croupier who has seen everything. The party gambles with variable results.

The Pineapple Club is the Drake’s evening entertainment venue — dark wood panelling, live music, cocktails served in hollowed-out pineapples, and the kind of conversations that happen when interesting people are a thousand feet above the ground with nowhere else to be. New friends are made. Some of them may be reliable.

On the Night Deck, under a sky that is genuinely spectacular at altitude, the party finds children — four of them, apparently unsupervised, attempting to climb the exterior railing to look at the stars more closely. The rescue operation is more complicated than expected, involving ropes, Athletics checks, and a considerable amount of negotiating with a six-year-old who does not see the problem.

During the commotion, a small pseudo-dragon named Flint makes his decision: he lands on Ranga’s shoulder, curls his tail around her neck, and goes to sleep. He does not ask permission. He does not need to.

The Drake stops briefly in Sithean — a city of spires and salt wind — before crossing the Cerulean Sea toward Neverland.

DM Notes

This is a pure character session — enjoy it. The Pineapple Club is a good place for individually tailored NPC interactions based on each player’s interests. Flint’s adoption of Ranga should feel inevitable once it happens.
