Feats are skills the System grants on the spot. You don’t choose them from a list. You earn them through great skill, creative problem-solving, or hilarious catastrophe.
Earning feats
- The GM awards feats. Each feat lists how it is normally earned, but the GM can award it for an equally impressive moment.
- Each feat can be earned once per crawler per campaign.
- Each crawler can earn at most one feat per floor.
- Staging a catastrophe on purpose doesn’t count. The System can tell, and it is not amused.
Using feats
- A feat takes effect as soon as it is announced. There is no box to open and no safe room required.
- Uses marked “once per Long Rest” return when you finish a Long Rest.
- Campaign feats are separate from your class and level-up choices. They never replace an Ability Score Improvement or a feat you would normally choose.
- Record each feat on your D&D Beyond character sheet as a custom feature, using its text from the Feats page.
System announcements
When you earn a feat, the System announces it, just as it does an achievement. The same moment can earn both a feat and an achievement.
