Part II — Genealogy & NPC Registry

All living NPCs are listed below under their family, lineage, or regional grouping. Each entry now includes an expanded Ancestry / Divine Lineage column tracing the character’s bloodline back to Danu and the One God. Where an NPC appears in multiple tables, only the primary entry is detailed; cross-references are noted.
Divine / Primordial Lines
These are gods, demigods, and primordial beings — not mortal rulers.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| The One God | Primordial Creator — origin of all divine hierarchy in Once | — | Living; rules Eden | Creator-god; father of Adam; banished from the Land of the Gods after the Divine Schism. His mortal lineage flows through Adam & Eve to populate the world. |
| Danu | Independent goddess; co-origin of the witch/fey lines through her daughters | — | Status unknown | Brokered peace after the Schism by offering her daughter Lilith to Adam. Mother of Lilith, Lysandra, and Limnas. Her bloodline forms the witchcraft and fey traditions of Once. |
| Samael | The devil; no divine genealogical line, but his union with Lilith produced the Three Sisters | Consort of Lilith | Presumably living | Wandered Once with Lilith after her exile from Eden. Co-progenitor of the Three Sisters and many dark fey, witches, and monsters. |
| Lilith | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith | Daughter of Danu; first bride of Adam; consort of Samael | Presumably living | Exiled from Eden for refusing to submit to Adam. Her union with Samael produced the Three Sisters and the dark fey races. Her shadow touches almost every magical bloodline in Once. |
| Lysandra | Danu → Lysandra | Sister of Lilith & Limnas; daughter of Danu | Presumably living | Lifts and topples mortal rulers for amusement. Stirs complex conflicts from behind the scenes. Her interventions echo through nearly every royal succession in Grimm and beyond. |
| Limnas | Danu → Limnas | Sister of Lilith & Lysandra; daughter of Danu | Presumably living | Rules the Boundless Blue and Cerulean Sea. Her lovers—Ceto, Ebisu, Kukulcan, Chaac—fathered krakens, sea serpents, and Sahugin. Tirulia’s sea-deity bargains likely involve her domain. |
| Adam | The One God → Adam | Son of The One God; ex-consort of Lilith; consort of Eve | Living; rules Eden as Dictator Adam | Favourite son of the One God. His line with Eve populates the mortal world. His failed marriage to Lilith is the root of the world’s great magical schism. |
| Eve | The One God → Adam & Eve (consort) | Consort of Adam | Status unknown | Adam’s second consort. Her descendants populate the mortal world and form the basis of all non-fey, non-witch royal lines in Once. |

| Mal (Maleficent?) | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal | Middle daughter of Lilith & Samael | Status unknown (ancient) | Practitioner of Gray Magick. An ancient entity of hunger, fear, and parasitic magic. Feeds on love and devotion. Her true form resides in the ‘Other Land’ beneath the Lowlands. |
The House of Arendelle (Frosted Wing)
Descended from one of King Balzar’s heirs; imbued with Feywild magic and a cyclical winter curse. Their line traces through Balzar back to Adam & Eve and the One God, with Feywild influence suggesting a secondary thread from Danu’s lineage.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| King Balzar | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → Balzar [Feywild infusion: Danu → fey bloodline woven in] | Progenitor of the Frosted Wing dynasty | Deceased | Unified the Frosted Wing under one dynasty. His children fractured it into four kingdoms plus three independent lands. The Feywild magic in his line suggests an ancestor’s pact or union with a fey scion of Danu. |

His maritime heritage is amplified by Tirulia’s ancient sea-deity bargains. |
| Queen Elsa | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Feywild infusion: Danu → fey bloodline] → Balzar → Arendelle heir → … → Agnarr & Iduna → Elsa | Second child of Agnarr & Iduna; sister of Eric, Anna, and the lost prince | Living; rules Arendelle | Beloved and benevolent queen. Her ice magic may trace to the Feywild infusion in Balzar’s line—an echo of Danu’s elemental daughters. Watches the Grimm conflict and disturbing rumours from Oz and Wonderland. |
| Princess Anna | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Feywild infusion: Danu → fey bloodline] → Balzar → Arendelle heir → … → Agnarr & Iduna → Anna | Third child of Agnarr & Iduna; sister of Eric, Elsa, and the lost prince | Living; Arendelle ambassador | Serves as Arendelle’s roving ambassador. Found and raised in Greystoke, which he now rules as King Tarzan alongside Queen Jane. Does not yet know his true lineage—or does he? |
The House of Grimm — Germonia
Descended from the royal line that struck a deal with Dagon. Snow White effectively ruled until her death; the throne is now nominally King Henry’s alone, with no one actually steering it. Their line traces through Astor & Hilde to Adam & Eve and the One God.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| King Astor | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → Astor | Progenitor of Grimm’s ruling dynasty; husband of Hilde | Deceased (ancient) | United the mortal tribes of the Western Wing; established a 1,000-year peace with Queen Hilde. |

| Dagon | Prince of the Darkened Deep — divine/infernal origin, no mortal genealogy | External party to deal with Germonian line | Presumably living (otherworldly) | Ancient entity. Was promised a daughter of the Germonian bloodline in exchange for dominion over Grimm. The deal remains outstanding. |
| King Henry | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → Astor & Hilde → … → Germonian royal branch → Henry | Current King of Germonia; husband of Snow White | Living; rules Germonia (nominally) | Usually absent—philandering, gambling, and generally frivolous. | Queen Snow White | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → Astor & Hilde → … → Germonian royal branch → Snow White | Queen Consort of Germonia; wife of King Henry; mother of Sable | Deceased — killed by her own daughter, Sable, who struck first when Snow White attempted to offer her to Dagon | Sought to re-unify all of Grimm under her rule. Knew of the Dagon deal and moved to sacrifice her daughter Sable to fulfil it. Sable killed her first and offered Dagon her mother’s body as a substitute payment; the original contract remains open. |
| Princess Sable | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → Astor & Hilde → … → Henry & Snow White → Sable | Daughter of Snow White and King Henry | Living (in hiding with the Wild Things) | The intended sacrifice demanded by Dagon as per the ancient deal. The Enchanted Forest
Declared a governance-free collective by Lycan and Little Red Riding Hood.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |

All diplomatic and trade negotiations can be arranged through her or Lycan. |
House of Oz — Glinda’s Line (Revised)
Glinda currently rules Oz. She is one of four daughters born to Mal — granddaughter of Lilith and Samael, great-granddaughter of Danu — and Stephan, the bastard son of King Hammond of Grimm. Stephan’s own mother was an unacknowledged, minor scion of Queen Lurline’s collateral line, which is the thread that gives his daughters’ claim to Oz’s throne its legitimacy independent of Mal’s teaching. Glinda’s sisters are Elphaba, Nessarose, and Theadora, who each claimed a different corner of Oz and a different inheritance from their mother’s Gray Magick. This section has been revised to reflect the Goblin King’s true lineage: he is Glinda’s son, born as Peter, who ran away and became Peter Pan before eventually tiring of eternal boyhood and transforming into Jareth the Goblin King.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Queen Lurline | Danu → fey/elemental lineage → ancient fey courts → Lurline [Her magic also carries traces of Grimhild’s White Magick tradition] | Founder and first ruler of Oz (fey) | Vanished (unknown if alive) | Powerful fey who enchanted and unified Oz. Her disappearance left a power vacuum that Glinda filled. Her bloodline thinned in Oz and resurfaced, generations later, in the Vinkus’ Fiyero Tigelarr — making her an ancestor of Jadis, but not of Glinda or Elphaba directly. |
| Glinda | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal (+ Stephan, distant Lurline collateral line) → Glinda | Successor to Lurline’s Emerald Throne; mother of Peter Pan / the Goblin King | Living; rules Oz | Seized the Emerald Throne after Lurline vanished. Rules Oz (Munchkinland, Emerald City, Gillikin, Quadling, Eden). She and her sisters — Elphaba, Nessarose, and Theadora, all daughters of Mal and Stephan — began a line of rival Witch-Queens whose rivalries shattered Oz. In recent years has turned dark, purging Talking Animals and gentle Gillikin nobility as “the pure.” Her son Peter ran away and eventually became the Goblin King. |
| Peter Pan a.k.a. The Goblin King (Jareth) | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal (+ Stephan, distant Lurline collateral line) → Glinda → Peter Pan (Jareth) | Son of Glinda; ruler of the Impassible Desert and the Labyrinth | Living; rules the Impassible Desert | Born as Peter, son of Glinda, he ran away from Oz as a child, drawn to the wild magic of the Neverlands and the Impassible Desert. He became Peter Pan—the boy who would not grow up—gathering Lost Ones and spreading chaos. Eventually Peter tired of eternal boyhood. He wandered into the Labyrinth, made a bargain with the ancient goblins, and emerged as Jareth the Goblin King. He extended the Impassible Desert, cutting off trade routes. He does not typically interfere in mortal affairs—yet. |
| Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal (+ Stephan, distant Lurline collateral line) → Elphaba | Witch of the West; fled to Gillikin Country; mother of Jadis by Fiyero Tigelarr | Deceased — slain by Dorothy Gale | Her lineage runs from Lurline’s fey bloodline through Fiyero Tigelarr of the Vinkus, her father. Jadis is the daughter of Elphaba and Fiyero, tying Narnia’s White Witch directly to both Mal’s Gray Magick and Oz’s divine fey legacy at once. |
| Jadis, the White Witch | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal (+ Stephan) → Elphaba (+ Fiyero Tigelarr, Lurline’s bloodline) → Jadis | Daughter of Elphaba; nemesis of Aslan | Living; rules Frozen Citadel, northern Narnia | Sorceress of unfathomable power. Her body is eternal, bound to ancient magics derived from Danu’s fey bloodline. Despises Aslan’s divine laws—a war between the One God’s servant and Danu’s twisted descendant. |
| Melisande | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal (+ Stephan, distant Lurline collateral line) → Glinda → Witch-Queen succession → Melisande | Descendant of Glinda (era of False Dawn) | Deceased | A Witch-Queen who falsely claimed to be Lurline reincarnated; achieved temporary peace; her heirs were tyrannical. |
| Zadira the Eternal | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal (+ Stephan, distant Lurline collateral line) → Glinda → (claimed) → Zadira | Claims descent from Glinda’s bloodline | Fate unknown (possibly imprisoned or in hiding) | Rose from Emerald City ruins; conquered all of Oz with automata and sorcerers. Declared Supreme Empress. Either deposed by Glinda or still a threat. Her claimed lineage may be genuine or fabricated. |
The Provinces — Narnia
Aslan rules the southern/central regions. Narnia is perpetually at war with Jadis.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Lord Aslan | The One God → divine servant / avatar (not born of mortal or witch lineage) | Divine lion; ruler of Narnia | Living; rules Narnia (southern/central) | A great lion of divine origin, servant or embodiment of the One God’s will. Built the Great Stone Table. Comes and goes as needed. Locked in eternal war with Jadis—the One God’s champion vs. Danu’s dark descendant. |
The Provinces — The Highlands
A centre of arcane study; defied Aslan’s decrees against magic.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Prime Minister Minerva McGonagall | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal/sorcerer line → Highland founders → … → [Danu → Mal (Gray Magick) → witch bloodline, woven in via ancestral pact] → McGonagall | Ruler of the Highlands | Living; rules the Highlands | Heads the arcane academies and sorcerer-houses of the Highlands. Her mixed mortal-witch lineage reflects the Highlands’ defining tension: they are mortals who learned Danu’s magic. Navigates the delicate balance between Aslan, Jadis, and the Beldam’s growing influence. |
| King Eldric the Stalwart (the Stitched King) | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal/sorcerer line → Highland founders → … → Eldric | Former Highland warlord; now the Beldam’s puppet | Living (but remade by the Beldam) | Led an army into the Lowlands. Was broken and rebuilt by the Beldam (Danu → Lilith & Samael → the Beldam). Now the One God’s mortal blood is trapped inside the Beldam’s creation—a dark irony of the two divine lines made one broken thing. |
The Provinces — Sithean
A peaceful, diverse theocratic monarchy.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Mother Goose (The Lady of Beasts) | Danu → primal fey / divine animal spirits → ancient pastoral deity lineage → Mother Goose [The One God’s mortal line flows through her people, but she herself appears pre-mortal] | Ruler of Sithean | Living; rules Sithean | Guides a pastoral realm where Talking Animals, fey, and mortals coexist harmoniously. Her lineage predates the mortal kingdoms—she may be a surviving scion of Danu’s oldest daughters, or a divine entity in her own right. Values diplomacy and storytelling. |
The Provinces — The Lowlands
Ruled in the Beldam’s name. The Stitched King sits the throne; the Beldam lurks in the ‘Other Land’ beneath.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| The Beldam | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → The Beldam | Youngest daughter of Lilith & Samael; ruler of the Lowlands (true form) | Living; true form in the ‘Other Land’ | See Three Sisters entry. Rules through servants, doppelgängers, and the Stitched King. Preparing to expand beyond the Lowlands. Every Buttoned One she creates is a perversion of both the One God’s mortal line and Danu’s divine magic. |
| King Eldric (the Stitched King) | The One God → Adam & Eve → Highland mortal line → Eldric [Remade by: Danu → Lilith & Samael → the Beldam] | Former Highland warlord; current puppet-ruler of the Lowlands | Living (remade) | See Highlands entry. Sits the Lowlands’ throne with black button eyes and a sweet, empty voice, never aging or sleeping. |
The Frosted Wing — Tirulia
A maritime power with a dark legacy of deals with sea deities.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| King Eric | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Feywild infusion: Danu → fey bloodline] → Balzar → Arendelle heir → … → Agnarr & Iduna → Eric | Son of Agnarr & Iduna of Arendelle; eldest sibling; ruler of Tirulia | Living; rules Tirulia | See House of Arendelle entry. Tirulia thrives on trade and naval dominance. The sea-deity bargains in Tirulia’s past likely involve Limnas (Danu’s daughter)—meaning Eric’s kingdom is entangled with both sides of his ancestry. Hinterlands’ Phillip believes Tirulia is his birthright. |
The Frosted Wing — Wildwoods
A realm of untamed nature and fierce independence.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| King Naveen | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Danu → fey/druid bloodline, woven in ancestrally] → … → Wildwoods royal line → Naveen | Ruler of Wildwoods | Living; rules Wildwoods | Governs in harmony with wild fey, druids, dryads, Talking Animals, and mythical beasts. The fey thread in his ancestry allows him to commune with the Wildwoods’ nature spirits—Danu’s influence felt in the living landscape he stewards. |
The Frosted Wing — Folly
Surreal, ever-shifting borders. A danger and a curiosity.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Emperor Gormless III | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Danu → trickster-fey bloodline] → Balzar’s southern heirs → … → Gormless III | Ruler of Folly | Living; rules Folly | Leads (or is led by) Folly’s council of tricksters and illusionists. Travelers who enter Folly emerge changed in ways they cannot explain. The trickster-fey strain in his ancestry is particularly potent—a gift, or curse, from the chaotic edge of Danu’s divine brood. |
The Frosted Wing — Longago, Fantasia & Wonderland (Independents)
Three regions that resisted Balzar’s heirs and declared independence.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Queen Elora Danan | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Danu → ancient fey bloodline → refuge-seekers’ line] → Elora Danan | Ruler of Longago | Living; rules Longago | Leads a barren, mountainous refuge for the hunted, accused, and those who prefer anarchy to governance. Her fey blood gives her natural authority over the dispossessed; her mortal blood keeps her grounded in pragmatic leadership. |
| The Child Empress | Unknown; possibly Danu → primordial fey / dream-entity → the Child Empress [Her origin is deliberately mysterious] | Ruler of Fantasia | Living; rules Fantasia | An enigmatic leader of unknown origin. Rules a land of magical creatures and fantastic landscapes. Her precise lineage is one of Once’s great mysteries—she may be the oldest living being in the world, older even than the Three Sisters. |
| The Queen of Hearts | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Wonderland noble houses, likely House of Cards] → … → the Queen of Hearts | Ruler of Wonderland | Living; rules Wonderland | Once a minor noble. Led the Crimson Rebellion, betrayed the Red Queen, and now rules Wonderland as a mad and cruel empire. Her mortal lineage makes her usurpation of fey-tinged Wonderland all the more violent: pure human ambition vs. the realm’s ancient magic. Executions by beheading are routine. Grows paranoid knowing the Red Queen still plots. |
The Impassible Desert & Neverland
Peter Pan (the Goblin King) and Captain Hook control the wild outer regions.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Peter Pan a.k.a. The Goblin King (Jareth) | The One God → [Danu’s bargain] → Danu → Lilith & Samael → Mal (+ Stephan, distant Lurline collateral line) → Glinda → Peter Pan (Jareth) | Son of Glinda; ruler of the Impassible Desert / the Labyrinth | Living; rules the Impassible Desert | Born as Peter, Glinda’s son, he ran away from Oz as a child, drawn to adventure and the wild magic of the Impassible Desert. He became Peter Pan—the eternal boy who gathered Lost Ones and refused to grow up. Eventually he tired of boyhood. He found the ancient Labyrinth, bargained with the goblins who dwelt there, and was transformed into Jareth the Goblin King. He extended the Impassible Desert, cutting off trade routes. He does not typically interfere in mortal affairs—yet. Captain Hook is one of the few who has crossed him and survived. |
| Captain Hook | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → … → Hook’s seafaring family → Captain Hook | Ruler of Neverland | Living; rules Neverland | Rules the wild and perilous realm of Neverland. A long and bitter history with Peter Pan (before and after his transformation). His mortal lineage puts him squarely in the One God’s camp by blood, yet he rules a realm soaked in fey and lost magic. |
Central & South American Realms
Three independent nations in the southern continent.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| President Mirabel Madrigal | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Danu → fey/earth-spirit bloodline → the Encanto miracle-line] → Madrigal family → Mirabel | Leader of Santa Cecelia | Living; leads Santa Cecelia | Elected leader of Santa Cecelia. The Madrigal family’s miraculous gifts suggest a Danu-derived fey ancestor who blessed the bloodline—each gift a different expression of primal elemental power. |
| President Miguel Rivera | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → Rivera family → … → Miguel [Spirit-world ties suggest a thin thread of Danu’s underworld-adjacent fey lineage] | Leader of Valle De Cocora | Living; leads Valle De Cocora | Elected leader of Valle De Cocora. His family’s connection to the Land of the Dead and music magic hints at ancient Danu-lineage fey ties, though his mortal heritage is primary. |
| Emperor Kuzco | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → ancient Micchu imperial line → … → Kuzco | Ruler of Micchu | Living; rules Micchu | Emperor of Micchu. His purely mortal lineage is one of the most unambiguously ‘One God’s side’ of any ruler in Once—no fey infusion, no witch bloodline, just the long arc of human emperors descending from Adam & Eve. |
Greystoke
Ruled by the lost youngest prince of Arendelle, now known as Tarzan.
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| King Tarzan (The Lost Prince) | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line → [Feywild infusion: Danu → fey bloodline] → Balzar → Arendelle heir → … → Agnarr & Iduna → Tarzan (the Lost Prince) | Youngest son of Agnarr & Iduna; husband of Jane; ruler of Greystoke | Living; rules Greystoke | See House of Arendelle. Lost at sea as an infant. Found and raised in Greystoke. Rules as King Tarzan alongside Queen Jane. His full divine lineage—through Balzar to Danu’s fey blood and Adam to the One God—is unknown to him, though the primal fey in his blood may be why Greystoke’s wild creatures accepted him as their lord. |
| Queen Jane | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line (scholarly/exploratory branch) → … → Jane’s family → Jane | Wife of Tarzan; ruler of Greystoke | Living; rules Greystoke | Rules Greystoke alongside Tarzan. Her mortal lineage is entirely of Adam’s descent—no fey—which grounds the kingdom between Tarzan’s wild fey-touched nature and civilised governance. |
Florin
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| King Wesley | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line (Florin branch) → … → Wesley | Ruler of Florin; husband of Buttercup | Living; rules Florin | Co-rules Florin. His lineage is mortal through and through—a king risen from commoner stock through love and legend rather than divine bloodline. |
| Queen Buttercup | The One God → Adam & Eve → mortal line (Florin branch) → … → Buttercup | Ruler of Florin; wife of Wesley | Living; rules Florin | Co-rules Florin. As with Wesley, her claim rests on love, legend, and the will of the people—the One God’s mortal line at its most unadorned and human. |
Eden
| Name | Ancestry / Divine Lineage | Relationship | Status | Notes |
| Dictator Adam | The One God → Adam | Son of the One God; ruler of Eden | Living; rules Eden | Rules Eden in the present day. His mortal-divine lineage is the most direct of any ruler in Once—first son of the Creator God. His descendants, through Eve, populate nearly every mortal kingdom. His failed marriage to Lilith remains the wound from which the world’s great magical schism was born. |
