2nd Age: Rising Kingdoms

EventSummary
Four Regions FormAs gods retreat to the Land of the Gods, mortal kingdoms rise across four geographic zones: the frozen Frosted Wing (north), the temperate Dragon’s Neck (central), the resource-rich Western Wing, and the fertile Dragon’s Tail coastline.
Frosted Wing: King BalzarKing Balzar unifies the northern lands under a dynasty imbued with Feywild magic. His children will eventually demand their own portions.
Grimm: King Astor’s PeaceIn the Western Wing, King Astor and Queen Hilde unite the mortal tribes and establish a peaceful rule lasting nearly 1,000 years. They found the dynasty of Grimm.
Oz: Queen Lurline’s RuleThe powerful fey Queen Lurline enchants and unifies Oz, establishing five distinct regions. Her reign is marked by timeless magic and prosperity.
Oz: Glinda Seizes PowerAfter Lurline vanishes, Glinda—youngest of Mal’s daughters, and the most ambitious—uses cunning and dark alliance to kill King Pastorious and Queen Lurlene, seizing the Emerald City. She sends soldiers to Gillikin Country to kill its princess. She hopes her son Peter will inherit the empire, but he runs away as a child. Glinda rules, sometimes calling herself Ozma.
Rekai: The Fog DeepensAs great kingdoms rise across Once, Rekai grows more deliberately obscure. The kami of the land learn that being findable brings war. The coastal mists thicken; the roads into Rekai begin to shift with the tides. Three settlements persist: Koriko (a growing port city), Sen (a river village on the Dragonspire), and Lochwood (a forest hamlet on the Elderbark’s northern edge). Rekai exists ‘between’ the great kingdoms—close enough to trade, distant enough to be forgotten.
Provinces: Dragon’s Neck GrowsThe Dragon’s Neck sees new religions and flourishing magic. The region will eventually divide into Sithean, Narnia, the Highlands, and the Lowlands.
