Session Narrative
The Verdant Athenaeum is Germonia’s largest library and one of the finest in the known world — a cathedral-scale building of pale green stone whose windows are perpetually filled with the warm light of thousands of reading lamps. Scholars move through its corridors with the hushed intensity of religious devotion. The smell of old paper and preservation magic is overwhelming and not unpleasant.
The party uses the waiting time to research. The library’s collection on Dagon, demonic contracts, and the history of Germonian royal debts is extensive and disturbing. Their reading confirms and expands what Mistcurl told them: the original contract dates back three generations, was broken by Sable’s great-grandmother, and has been quietly compounding interest ever since. Snow White inherited not only the crown but the debt.
Corster arrives precisely when he said he would, which is unsurprising. He listens to their report — Sable is safe, Snow White’s intentions are confirmed — with the expression of someone who knew most of this and was waiting to see what the party had pieced together. He confirms their findings. He suggests, with a brevity that implies considerable urgency, that they leave Germonia. Immediately.
To Carra: the remedy for her mother. Delivered without ceremony, accepted with whatever emotion the player chooses.
Carra heads for home — Narnia, her mother, a different kind of duty. The party wishes her well and boards a zeppelin.
The Celestial Drake is a luxury airship running a regular route to Neverland by way of Sithean. Its dining parlour, games deck, and observation lounge represent a significant quality-of-life upgrade from river skiffs. In the dining parlour, already making himself at home with the confidence of someone who considers the world his personal territory, is a young hobgoblin named Ranga. He is delighted to meet them.
Key NPCs
- Corster Fre — Final Germonia appearance. Pays his debts, withdraws his claims, suggests they run. Back to being a presence rather than an antagonist — for now.
- Ranga — New party member. Young hobgoblin, chaotic, blessed (or cursed) by both Heron and Crow. Treats every situation as an adventure. Will fit right in, unfortunately.

DM Notes
Ranga joins the party here. Introduce them with maximum chaos — they should immediately cause or join a food fight. Carra’s farewell should be given appropriate weight; if the player is departing the campaign, make it meaningful. The zeppelin is a good transitional space for the Neverland arc.
