Session Narrative
Goosefeather is the sort of town that looks exactly as peaceful as it isn’t. Stone-built and tidy, surrounded by farms and orchards, it sits at the foot of a low range of hills and prides itself on its annual Threshing Day festival, its prize-winning geese, and its absolute refusal to acknowledge anything unusual.
Three quests converge on the party almost immediately upon arrival. A boy named Jackie Paper has gone missing from the grain quarter. Puff, a young dragon of cheerful disposition and limited common sense, has been causing chaos in the hills north of town — not maliciously, just enthusiastically. And a young wizard named Ominis has been reported lurking near the old millhouse, using magic in ways the town considers deeply antisocial.
Ominis turns out to be the most immediately dangerous. The party tracks him to the millhouse and a confrontation follows — Ominis is skilled, frightened, and fighting with the reckless intensity of someone with nothing to lose. The party defeats him, and only then, searching through his possessions and his rambling final words, do they piece together the uncomfortable truth: Ominis is the great-grandson of Jadis, the White Witch of Narnia. His power comes from a lineage they have just made very hostile.
They return to Goosefeather with Jackie Paper (found hiding in Puff’s cave, which he considered an acceptable dragon-themed den) and the news of Ominis’s defeat. Puff, meanwhile, has descended into town to investigate the Threshing Day preparations and found the entire festival fascinating and participatory in ways no one had planned for.
Threshing Day ends in spectacular disaster: several haystacks on fire, the prize geese in full revolt, the mayor covered in something agricultural, and the party receiving formal notice that they are banned from the Goosefeather Adventurers Guild affiliate and asked to leave the town before nightfall. They leave.
Key NPCs
- Ominis — Young wizard, great-grandson of the White Witch of Narnia (Jadis). Driven, paranoid, and genuinely dangerous. Defeated but not killed — or killed and becoming a plot thread.
- Puff the Magic Dragon — Young dragon. Enthusiastic, friendly, and completely unable to grasp that his enthusiasm is destructive. Scales are iridescent green-gold. Breathes small bursts of rainbow-coloured flame. Will reappear later as an unexpected rescuer.
- Jackie Paper — Missing boy. Perfectly happy in the dragon’s cave and slightly disappointed to be rescued.
Encounters & Mechanics
Ominis the Wizard
CR 5 mage with added cold-damage spells (Jadis lineage). Fights defensively and tries to escape. If killed, his body is found by Jadis’s agents. If captured, he can be a later ally or complication.

DM Notes
Puff is a long-game NPC — keep him warm and present. His rescue of the party in Session 14 lands harder if the players have grown fond of him. Ominis’s connection to Jadis is the seed of the Session 14 boss fight; foreshadow it gently. The Threshing Day chaos should be played for comedy — roll randomly on a chaos table if you enjoy that, or just describe the mounting disaster with affection.
